Dawid Malan, England's former No.1-ranked T20I batter, has announced his retirement from international cricket at the age of 37

Malan played 22 Tests, 30 ODIs, and 62 T20Is, making centuries in all three formats, a feat matched only by Jos Buttler

Despite his achievements, he had not featured in an England squad since the 50-over World Cup in India last year

Malan said, 'It has been an incredible journey since July 2017. I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to play for England

He expressed satisfaction with his career, despite the mental and physical toll it took. 'I can say I am genuinely satisfied

Malan made his T20I debut against South Africa in 2017 with a remarkable innings of 78 from 44 balls

He became the fastest men's player to reach 1000 runs in T20I cricket in just 24 innings, a record that solidified his place in history

Malan also excelled in the ODI format, scoring five hundreds in 15 innings between June 2022 and September 2023
